Make a Clue Me In Contest Card


Have fun reading great books and building your comprehension skills by making your own Clue Me In game cards. Study the sample. Follow the simples steps below.

Sample question Card

Secret Garden--Francis Burnett
Chapter 27, In the Garden

Clue 1: In each century since the beginning of the world wonderful, things have been discovered.
Clue 2: This was not what Colin had expected--this was not what he had planned.
Clue 3. "Father," he said, I'm Colin. You can't believe it.

Plus 4: What did Mr. Craven do after he read the letter from Mrs. Sowerby?
Answer: He decided to go back to Misselthwaite.

1. Read one chapter in your book for pleasure and understanding.
2. Write the title, author, chapter number, and chapter title.
3. Scan the content for clue one, which is a detail from the story. Make clue one the most difficult or vague. Do not include names of people or place.
4. Write down clue two. Make this clue a little more obvious by adding one of these items: the setting, major event, obvious charater, names, etc.
5. Write down clue three. This clue should give the story away. Make is very easy by including two obvious details, like name and major event.
6. Make a comprehension question, plus 4, and answer. Make a challenging one by selecting a minor detail.

Get together with a group of your friends and decide on the four best cards. Have fun!
