Technology--The Student News Network, SNN
The Student News Network
Our class will develop a
channel called The Student News Network,
SNN. The most important show will be
the classroom news program, called (to be determined by the class). The news broadcast will be the framework we
use to highlight relevant news in our class and school. Students will learn to write, edit, and
present school activities as well as showcase their acquired knowledge and
skills.
Important Privacy issues
1.
We will follow the
district protocol for video filming.
2.
Students always
have the option to protect their privacy, including but not limited to: not
appear in the film, not have their voice recorded, and not use their real name.
Basic Requirement
1.
One news segment
must feature learning taking place in class, a review of a book/story for example.
2.
The film must be
between 5-10 minutes.
3.
The stories must
have a visual, which may include a picture, project, writing, video, etc.
4.
Some possible
stories may include: birthday announcement, upcoming school events, student
reminders, review of new equipment, a demonstration on how to do something, or
lunch menu.
5.
Your show should
be relevant, interesting, and fun for your audience.

Technology--The Student Chef
The Student Chef
Our class will produce a film
series called The Student Chef. Students will demonstrate how to make their favorite dish. Students will learn to use technology and
practice presentation skills. Above all,
we will have fun sharing our favorite recipes! Please follow the guidelines below.
Idea Search
1.
Watch Ms. Han’s Healthy and Delicious film series. Watch other cooking shows on TV or the
Internet.
2.
Decide on a
recipe. Get a written copy or write it
down yourself.
Pre-filming Preparation
1.
Get the ingredients
ready. Cut and measure your ingredients.
2.
Set out your
cooking tools and equipment.
3.
Recruit your
camera person.
4.
Recruit a sou chef,
if needed.
5.
Write down and
rehearse your presentation with your crew.
Filming
1.
Make sure your
set is quiet.
2.
Record your cooking demonstration.
3.
View your first
recording. Do additional takes if
necessary.
4.
Load and edit
your film on the computer.
5.
Share with the
class.
